Property and Asset Management Working Group
Strengthening professional practices through peer-to-peer support
Together, property and asset managers are the front-line guardians of a community’s affordable housing investments. Property managers are responsible for the daily operation of affordable housing properties—doing everything from screening tenants to responding to emergency repair needs. Asset managers oversee the financial and physical health of property portfolios, ensuring projects will continue to serve residents well over the long term.
Convened by the Oregon Opportunity Network, the Property and Asset Management Working Group (PAMWG) is a place for property and asset managers to learn, share, connect, and develop their professional skills. At monthly meetings and statewide biannual work sessions, members discuss best practices, stay informed about industry trends, participate in targeted trainings, and organize support for policies that strengthen the affordable housing industry. As PAMWG’s cofacilitator, Housing Development Center provides leadership and technical support to this group of committed management professionals.
To learn more about PAMWG and to sign up for upcoming events, contact Terrie Hendrickson, Industry Support Director, Oregon Opportunity Network, at terrie@oregonon.org or (503) 223-4041; or Emily Schelling, Asset Management Project Manager, Housing Development Center, at emily@housingdevelopmentcenter.org or (503) 335-3668.
"For years now, PAMWG meetings have been a highlight of my month. It is so helpful to connect with other professionals, to share resources, and to get reliable information about our industry, best practices for asset management, and the ever-evolving regulatory environment."
