Shauna Childress, Senior Finance Project Manager

Shauna Childress uses her experience working for direct service providers to ensure projects meet the needs of communities they are intended to serve. She believes in asking the right questions to assure projects are properly underwritten to meet users’ needs over the long term. As senior finance project manager for HDC, Shauna works with nonprofits and housing authorities to develop and preserve affordable housing and community facilities, with a focus on assessing feasibility and structuring multisource financing packages. She serves on HDC’s equity team, a cross-departmental group responsible for assuring that HDC’s organizational policies and culture reflect principles of equity and inclusion. Shauna has more than a decade of experience in affordable-housing asset management, project management, and program management. Prior to joining HDC in 2017, Shauna was asset management director at Portland nonprofit Human Solutions, where she provided financial and operational oversight of a portfolio of 17 affordable-housing and mixed-use projects. In addition to previous work managing affordable-housing assets with Human Solutions, her experience includes coordinating energy-assistance programs and providing resident-advocacy services for a nonprofit provider of housing and social services in Central Oregon.
